The beginning of 2017 marked the birth of Le Wagon Montréal. Antoine and I were very excited and honoured to bring the best coding bootcamp in the world to Montréal, the first city in North America to run the program. We could not have had better momentum.

We settled down at La Gare, a collaborative workspace and entrepreneurial community in the heart of Mile-End. The perfect match 😉.

A year has passed, so we can take a deep breath and look back at our accomplishments.

Running a 5-star program ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We ran 3 batches of our FullStack Ruby on Rails program. 42 students came from all over the world to learn how to code with Le Wagon for 9 intensive weeks and have begun a new chapter in their lives.

Some have started their own entrepreneurial journeys, like Gabriel, while others found great jobs in the tech industry.

Students came from Canada, the United States, Brazil, France, Belgium, UK, Switzerland, Morocco, China, Korea, and Japan.

Thou shalt give to your community. And the community will give back.

We are very active in the Montreal startup community. We have organized more than 40 free meetups, including coding workshops for beginners, talks with inspirational entrepreneurs and networking events, which in total have involved more than 1800 participants.

We had the privilege to welcome inspiring entrepreneurs who generously came to share their journeys:

  • Eric Walker, CTO, Sonder
  • Julien Brault, Founder & CEO, Hardbacon
  • Alexandre Boucherot, Founder & CEO, Ulule
  • David Doyon, Founder, Mindset
  • Caterina Rizzi, Co-founder, Breather
